Accessible Speech Pathology & Occupational Therapy for rural families.

Blossom Rural offers Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy services for paediatric clients.

We complete all parts of the assessment and therapy process via Teletherapy (Zoom) so you aren’t limited by location.

We can help with…

  • Literacy

A Speech Pathologist can assist with reading, writing and spelling skills vital for literacy development.

  • Language

A Speech Pathologist can identify and assist with expressive and receptive language difficulties.

  • Early language

Some children have difficulty expressing their needs, wants and thoughts. Assessment for Early Language is play-based, making it light-hearted and fun!

  • Speech

A Speech Pathologist can identify and treat speech sound errors that may be affecting your child’s intelligibility.

  • Fluency

Stuttering can affect a child’s ‘fluency’ and ‘flow’ of speech.

  • Handwriting

An OT can help your child develop the skills they need to express their ideas in writing.

  • Fine motor skills

An OT can help your child develop the fine motor skills needed for daily life.

  • Executive functioning skills

An OT can support children who have difficulties with higher level cognitive tasks, such as working memory.

  • Sensory processing

An OT can help you and your child understand their sensory processing preferences and suggest practical strategies.

  • Social & emotional skills

An OT can help your child develop the emotional and social skills they need to build and sustain healthy relationships.

The Steps

1

Contact us

Reach out to us using the contact details provided and let us know how we can help. After you have contacted Blossom Rural, a Case History form and Service Agreement will be sent to you, via email.

2

Initial Consultation

A clinician will hold an Initial Consultation with the child's parent/caregiver. This will provide us the opportunity to discuss your concerns in depth and ensure we are taking the most appropriate pathway for your child.

During this session, an Initial Planning Document will be created for your child, to provide you an overview of the discussion held and some information regarding the assessments planned.

3

Assessment

If required, your clinician will begin the relevant assessments with your child. If you require a detailed Assessment Report, this can be written on completion of assessment. Assessment Reports include the findings of the assessment, goals for intervention and recommendations for your child's school and home.

4

Therapy

Therapy is great fun! We use evidence-based intervention approaches to work on achieving your child’s individualised goals, determined from their assessment.

Our clinicians also use a parent coaching approach, to work alongside families and provide evidence-based strategies to implement in the household.
